PayaCharity celebrates success at the 2018 Payment Awards

Card acceptance provider for charities, PayaCharity has been announced as the winner of the Best Contactless Payments Project at the 2018 Payments Awards. The announcement was made on 14 November at the prestigious awards ceremony, held in London and attended by hundreds of payment industry professionals.

Fast becoming the ‘go to place’ for third sector organisations looking to roll out a contactless donation solution, PayaCharity was commended for bringing together all the components required for a successful deployment. Each step of the process from application for a truly ‘Pay As You Go’ merchant account, gateway processing, together with set-up, fulfilment and support of the donation boxes, is taken care of by PayaCharity, allowing the organisations to focus on their fundraising activities.

The award was collected by Bill Thomson, CEO of PayaCharity who said: “this is perfect recognition of the efforts of our team who have worked so hard over the past 12 months to deliver a solution for charities and third sector organisations to more easily adopt contactless technology for fundraising donations. With contactless now available on over 120m cards in the UK alone, and having been involved in the original launch of contactless transactions back in 2007, it was clear the supply chain was hindering the benefits being enjoyed by the third sector. We set about putting that right and we are proud to be seeing adoption and contactless transactions increasing on a daily basis which is helping great causes and our communities. We must also recognise those charities and organisations who have already taken the step to adopt the solution, as they are the ones providing confidence to their peers to do the same”

Since launch of the solution earlier this year, PayaCharity has gone from strength-to-strength, with successful deployment of contactless donation boxes in museums, animal sanctuaries, medical charities, religious organisations, zoos and more. Demonstrating that this simple technology can be adopted by charities and organisations of all sizes.
